Hello! Mr. Handsome Barista Part 2: Discovering the Nescafe Gold Barista machine

As promised, I would like to share my experience unboxing and setting up the Nescafe Gold Barista Machine. Now, before you scroll further let me warn you that I am clumsy and it is clearly shown in the videos. Try your best to ignore :p

Let us start with the Box...
Front box- Photo of Nescafe Gold barista Machine and a Nescafe Gold Blend pack

At the back of the box, there is a 3 steps guide on how to use the Barista machine. Since it only takes a touch of a button to get the machine to start brewing your coffee, there is not much to read here except that they recommend you to fill in the water tank (fills up to 1 litre of water) with fresh water and pour in your Nescafe Gold Blend coffee into the coffee chamber.

Back of box- 3 steps guide

You can make a minimum of 5 cafe style coffee at home using the Nescafe Gold Barista machine.
(Espresso, Lungo, Americano, Cappucino, Latte macchiato) *The latter 2 coffee style is a milk based coffee. Why minimum you ask? There are varieties of ways  for you to explore your coffee. For instance, just add chocolate shavings/powder into your coffee and Voila! a hot Mocha!
Left of box- minimum of 5 cafe style coffee and endless coffee styles to explore

The Barista machine comes with a manual booklet, a measuring cup (for you to measure your milk when making Cappuccino/Latte), a drip tray and a funnel for you to fill in your coffee into the coffee chamber. The coffee chamber and water tank is attached to the machine.

Rinsing...

When using the machine for he first time, you are required to rinse the machine. The step-by-step guide is available in the manual booklet.
Step 1: Place a container (with a capacity of at least 1/4 Litre) under the  coffee outlet
Step 2: Fill in the water tank with approx 1 Litre water and re-attach the water tank to the machine
Step 3: With a dry hand, Plug in the power plug and switch Power on.
Step 4: Once the power button and Espresso  icon light is a steady green, touch the Espresso button.
Step 5: The rinsing should start and you shall wait until it stops.
Step 6: Remove water from your container.
Step 7: Once rinsing is done, all lights will be steady green. You can now start brewing!

Filling the coffee chamber...

To remove the coffee chamber, push a small button on the top cover and pull the box upwards (It is easily detached. No force is required). Remove cap and fill in Nescafe Gold Blend coffee (careful not to spill! use the funnel provided in the box *which I only discovered after making the video hahaha

My first LATTE!

Use the provided measuring cup to measure your milk (Of course, this is just the recommended amount. You may adjust according to your preference. You can also use condensed milk). The measuring cup comes with an icon of your coffee style for easy reference.

My first Latte Macchiato!

I have got to say that I am super impressed with the taste! The way that the coffee is brewed definitely changes the taste of the coffee. It gives a more intense aroma and the latte definitely tastes like a cafe made coffee! No kidding!

Best part of it all, the smell of a fresh brewed coffee elevates my senses. I feel like I am sitting in a cafe embracing the rich aroma of coffee. I am in a house-cafe heaven!

Now, let me go to get back to my coffee.

Hope the tips helps!

Love,
Gja

Hello! Mr. Handsome Barista Part 1: Man down before 31

Oh hellllllo...OCTOBER!

My favorite month is finally here! It is our birthday month! Yes! Mine and Farez’s.
Our birthday is 20days apart.

His birthday was last Saturday and I have decided to surprise him with a pre-birthday dinner.
He is usually very tired after beating the heavy 2hrs traffic from KLIA. So I made him a Korean bbq at the comfort of his own home, complete with a steamboat. Nyum!

He got home. Opened the door and shouted “Matin!!! I am home!” He didn’t see the “Happy Birthday” set up. He asked “Whats for dinner? I feel like eating something sinful and heavy” (YES!). he walked in and saw the foods and the birthday set up. He smiled and said “Okay.. I’m just gonna wallop everything!! Thank You! I thought everybody forgotten my Birthday!

Little did he know, I had another surprise waiting for him. His birthday gift!! Well, we don’t usually exchange gifts (though the tradition should change hint) but this year is an exception because I know, he would appreciate this gift very much!
(Actually, I might appreciate it more.. grins :p)

Funny thing was, all of us fell asleep after the heavy meal. Did not even make it to 12am for the surprise birthday cake and gift! If you are thinking that the sleeping involved sexy lingerie and a romantic night, you are absolutely WRONG. It involved bloatedness and heavy snoring. Hahahaha. I guess I owe him then? His cake and birthday gift had to wait until the next morning LOL.

So patience come reward...I got him...*drum rolls!!*

A Nescafe Gold Blend Barista Machine!

Perfect! as he stepped out from the room asking for his morning coffee, he saw the Barista machine waiting for him on our dining table. I know...I know...your welcome  :)

Both of us are avid coffee drinker. We, especially Farez needs his dose of coffee in the morning. It is a long 1+ hour drive to work for him. Coffee and good music keeps him sane :p

What caught my attention the most is that the machine does not require a capsule and it works on a touch of a button! You only need to use your Nescafe Gold Blend to get it brewing and because we are already consuming Nescafe Gold Blend at home, it is even more obvious that we need to have the machine! Cafe style coffee at home?
YES PLEASE!!!
P/S: The machine only takes Freeze dried coffee. Hence why you MUST only use Nescafe Gold Blend. I already asked the salesman about using other types of coffee and he clearly said NO. So, don't itchy your hand by pouring other types of coffee. Even Nescafe Classic is a no-no as it oxidizes easily and it would jam up your machine.
Nescafe Gold Blend coffee- Freeze dried coffee. The shape is different compared to regular coffee

I immediately turned to Mr. Google and found that the Nescafe Gold Barista machine is available for purchase on Lazada and 11 Street. It was a bonus for me because Nescafe is having an introductory promotion price at RM249 instead of RM399 and you will get FREE 2 Nescafe Gold Blend (200g)

Without thinking twice, I bought it! I bought the Nescafe Gold Barista Machine and here is a picture of my Mr.Handsome Barista.

Now, go grab a cup and write a love note with my name spelled wrongly :p
Wait for PART 2 as I set up the Nescafe Gold Barista machine and share my experience exploring it
